Special terms and conditions: Music in a call center service

If, upon conclusion of the agreement, the customer has chosen a licence solely for the works of rights holders represented by Teosto or Gramex, this agreement applies to those rights only.

By this music license agreement, GT Musiikkiluvat Oy grants, as assigned by Teosto and Gramex, the license to public performance of music as background music and agrees on the compensation set out in section 47 of the Finnish Copyright Act as well as grants license to reproduce works and phonograms.

By this license agreement, the customer:

  • obtains from Teosto the non-exclusive right to use works protected under the Finnish Copyright Act and represented by Teosto at a time for public performance of music as queue music in the call center service.
  • agrees with Gramex on the compensation payable to performing artists and phonogram producer for the public performance of the phonograms as queue music in the call center service.
  • obtains from Teosto the non-exclusive right, in respect of the works protected under the Finnish Copyright Act and represented by Teosto at a time, (i) to reproduce works to be used as queue music in the call center service and (ii) to use the reproduced works meant for private use as queue music in the call center service.
  • obtains from Gramex the non-exclusive right on behalf of the holders of rights represented by Gramex: (i) to reproduce commercially published phonograms to be used as queue music in the call center service, and (ii) to use the phonograms /licenses for phonograms acquired for private use as queue music in the call center service.


The call center service means the provision of call center, contact center and help desk services as well as other telephone switch services. The reproduction of works or phonograms may not be allowed to be performed by a third party. The license does not entitle anyone to reproduce works or phonograms or perform phonograms in advertisements or in a manner or in a connection that infringes the moral rights defined in the Finnish Copyright Act. After the expiry of the validity of the license, the reproductions made on the basis of it may not be used for the purpose set out in this license. The license is company specific.
